Indications and usage of Adaptol:
Treatment of neurosis and neurosis-like conditions followed by irritation, emotional instability, anxiety and phobia. Adaptol is used to improve neuroleptic and tranquilizer tolerability in order to eliminate somatic-vegetal and neurologic adverse effects that are caused by above mentioned groups of medications. In general medicine Adaptol is used for treating cardiodynia of various origin (not associated with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease).
Contraindications: hypersensitivity to drug components.
Dosage and administration:
PO, irrespective of meals, 300-500 mg 2-3 times a day. Maximum single dose – 3 gr, maximum daily dose – 10 gr. Treatment duration – from 1-2 days to 2-3 months.
As part of complex therapy as a mean to reduce inclination for smoking – 600-900 mg 3 times a day for 5-6 weeks.
In case the next scheduled dose has not been administered, treatment regimen should be continued in accordance with early prescribed doses.
As a rule, Adaptol is well tolerated by patients. Possible allergic reactions and
dyspeptic disorders after high doses administration. Possible fall of arterial pressure and body temperature. These conditions are not dangerous for health.
If there are side effects not mentioned in this leaflet one should inform attending medical doctor.
Overdosage: Adaptol is low-toxic. At suspicion on overdosage to call a doctor, conduct usual detoxication procedure, including stomach lavage.
Drug interaction: It may be combined with neuroleptic agents, tranquilizers (benzodiazines), sleeping pills, anti-depressants and psychostimulants.
Product form: 10 tablets in blister card. 20 tablets in a package.
