Pharmacological effect of Bifiform:
Bifiform is used for treatment and prevention of dysbacteriosis of various origin. Lactobacillales (LAB) maintain and regulate physiological balance of intestinal microflora. Bifiform corrects GI tract disorders and gastrointestinal microbiocenosis, thereby improving non-specific resistance of the body. Bifiform contains:
– Bifidobacterium B. Bifidum ВВ-12 – improves gastrointestinal microbiocenosis, boosts immunity. B. Bifidum ВВ-12 is responsible for fat absorption;
– Streptococcus thermophiles –regulates stool and treats diarrhea;
– Enterococcusfaecium – controls fermentation process, responsible for lactose dissipation;
– Lactobacillus – prevents pathogenic bacterial growth by means of lactic acid production.
Indications and usage: improvement of intestinal microflora, as well as treatment and prevention of gastric distress of various origin, chronic GI tract diseases, immunity maintenance in children over the age of 2 and in adults.
Contraindications: hypersensitivity to drug components.
Adverse effects: when used in the recommended doses, side effects are not discovered.
Dosage and administration:
PO. Treatment and prevention of gastric distress: children over the age of 2 and adults – 2-3 capsules once a day, regardless of the meal. Treatment duration of acute diarrhea is 2-3 days. If needed, the dosage can be stepped up to 4 capsules a day. In other cases, treatment duration is 10-21 days.
Simultaneous administration with antibiotics: Bifiform may be used simultaneously with antibiotics. Desirable treatment pattern: 1 Bifiform capsule with meals and anti-infective drug in 1-2 hours.
It is advisable to undergo retreatment course after antibiotics withdrawal: 2-3 capsules a day for 2-3 weeks.
